LAKE ERROCK CABIN

Landscape Design Mission, BC

Solution: This summer cabin was infested with thick dense coniferous forest overgrowth, limiting any vision of the lake possible. A huge 70-80 degree slope was the ultimate challenge for this quaint summer home in Lake Errock, Mission BC. Wanting to take the trees down without taking the whole yard and slope with it. The roots were left in tact and the logs were re-used creating a natural retaining barrier with a wood chip path leading down to the dock. Boulders were brought in to lead you down the steep slope gently and safely, while emphasis on native plants specifically for erosion were used heavily. Throughout time elderberries, foxgloves and grasses to name a few naturally sprouted, creating a complex web of ecology in harmony with it’s community and environment.
