CALIFORNIA ASIAN

Vancouver Heights Contemporary Home backing onto Park/Greenbelt with back lane.
Expanded urban living, fusing “California beach house- style outdoor living” with a West-Coast Asian influence.
This project brings calm and order to a previously chafer beetle infested lawn and neglected space.

An existing concrete paving path navigates like a stream of flowing water to the front of the home – feng shui appropriate.
The terrain brings you between two ‘islands’ of moss, while sloping you past a dry ‘beach’ hardscape area, dotted with groundcovers and irises. Lush monotone plantings of Magnolias, daphnes, and structural yews on either side encloses the garden, creating a cozy inviting space.
Soothing geometric patterns of concrete and artificial turf visually extend the rear garden. While a custom bench crafted from steel and western red cedar, radiates and illuminates the space.

Project Date:  2016
Project Cost: $25,000 – $50,000
Location: Vancouver, BC

Client Testimonial:
Mary Easton and the team at Easton Landscape were such a pleasure to work with! A design consultation at the onset yielded a very thought out and detailed landscape plan that was based on our esthetic, maintenance and budget requirements.  We are so pleased with the end result and would definitely recommend Easton Landscape!
