LANDSCAPE DESIGN PROCESS

Landscape Design White Rock, South Surrey, Tsawwassen BCDesign Process Measure, photograph and shoot elevations of the property. Then create a lay out of the landscape, construction details and a planting plan.

Our design process starts with an onsite consultation where we meet with you and gather as much information as possible to help us draw a connection to the overall design goal and the future construction process. We conduct a design analysis  in which homeowner and designer take part in where you will be asked a select list of questions such as: your likes/dislikes, budget, planned use of space etc.  Images of inspiration are extremely helpful and strongly encouraged.
Depending on the size and scope of your project, we may draw up a preliminary concept sketch either onsite or in the office.  This allows both designer and homeowner to understand the overall design layout before the master concept plan is underway.  Photos, measurements and/or elevations are taken of your space and major tree locations and hardscape features such as outdoor kitchens, pools, walkways/driveways, patios, fire features, spas/hot tubs, water features and woodworking etc… are designed.  The next design phase is a planting plan.  This marks plant quantities, varieties and sizes etc…  An estimate to build is determined upon completion of both plans and the final design presentation is spent discussing the design and how to proceed with the construction portion. Design AnalysisWhat we think about when we design your space

Areas of priority & planned use of space, your ideas, likes and dislikes, target budget and existing materials are some of the things homeowners should think about before we meet with you.  Sitting/eating/entertaining areas, pool/hot tub or spa locations, slope/drainage solutions, surrounding properties & privacy are also key elements to the design.  As are utility masking, pet solutions, sun/wind exposure, soil conditions and shading an area, all play roles in defining the function of your space.  Whereas strategic views from windows inside the home, framing & complimenting the colour of your home and placement according to high traffic and seasonal interest are defining factors in garden styling.  Keeping a strong visual relationship between the inside and outside is important as we often collaborate regularly with architects, builders and interior designers to ensure that this is met.
